Yes! We want to remove all the barriers to you getting the care you deserve! No more bundling up littles, stressing about feeding schedules, or finding child care. Wear your PJs and feed your baby while we chat. Your family is welcome to be involved in our appointments; after all, they are part of your real life! And rest assured, I live with a baby and teenagers; no amount of mess or noise will phase me.

Inner Strength Pelvic Health and Wellness is an out-of-network service, meaning we do not directly bill insurance. With that said, you can pay for services with an HSA or FSA card.
Upon request, we can also provide you with a superbill that you can submit to insurance for out of network reimbursement. A superbill is a receipt that includes all the medical information your insurance company would need in order to provide any reimbursement.

No. In MN, Occupational therapists have direct access for cash-based services, so no referral is needed. However, if you plan on seeking reimbursement from insurance, your insurance provider may require a physician’s referral. You may self-refer, and when the evaluation is completed, your therapist can send a request to your physician; once signed, this acts as a prescription for occupational therapy.

At Inner Strength, we pride ourselves in removing barriers to care. We do our best to provide appointment times that are convenient for you, including select nights and weekends. Because our services area is large, we schedule certain areas on certain days and these visits will be set up at the time of your comprehensive evaluation. Please contact us to learn more about when we come to your area.

Prior to your first appointment, Amanda will have reviewed your intake paperwork thoroughly (this is why it needs to be completed at least 24 hours prior to your first visit). Your visit will start with a review of your intake and your goals;. At this time, Amanda will ask you follow-up questions to get a better idea of your unique needs. This usually takes about 30 minutes. Next, Amanda will do a thorough assessment including breathing, posture, movement, and pelvic floor and core muscle function. An internal assessment is never mandatory and options will be discussed thoroughly. Potential treatment recommendations will then be laid out to help you get on your way to feeling better.
The visit will last around 90 minutes and your family is welcome to be in on the action!

This is largely dependent on your unique situation. Our goal is to get you feeling better in as few visits as possible.
Typically, you will start to notice positive changes in the first two to three visits, but our typical length of care is 6-8 total visits.

During pregnancy, we like to start seeing you early in the second trimester to work on preparing your body for the changes ahead. This also allows us to be proactive in our treatment and work on things like posture, breathing, birth preparation, and address aches and pains early. We can start therapy as early after giving birth as you are ready (no internal assessment/treatment until 6 weeks) to help you recover more quickly and gently progress your movement with confidence. That said, it is never too late in pregnancy or after giving birth to start pelvic floor therapy!
-
At Inner Strength, we do not put a timeline on postpartum recovery. We have experience working with women days to years after giving birth. Contact us so we can discuss your unique needs more thoroughly and ensure we are a good fit.

Yes! There is no reason we have to do internal work at any specific visit. It is also completely fine to do while you are menstruating. Your comfort is what is most important!

No! And spoiler alert, and sometimes just doing a bunch of Kegels makes things worse. Your pelvic floor is part of your inner core team, including your core, diaphragm, and back muscles. Together, we will address the entire team to get you moving throughout your day with confidence.
